DVSA Earned Recognition: Your Guide to Total Compliance

DVSA Earned Recognition: Your Guide to Total Compliance

DVSA Earned Recognition is a prestigious status for vehicle operators, including LGV, HGV, PSV / PCV operators, to demonstrate their commitment to driver and vehicle standards. DVSA Earned Recognition is a voluntary scheme that allows vehicle operators to prove they meet high standards of compliance, resulting in reduced roadside inspections, improved reputation, reduced costs, increased driver and staff morale, and priority access to DVSA services and suppor

To achieve this, you must:

  • Continuously monitor your compliance with approved software.
  • Employ monitoring systems.
  • Adhere to vehicle and road safety standards.

Under this scheme, you regularly share performance information with DVSA. In return, your vehicles are less likely to undergo roadside inspections. Your system reports to DVSA every 4 weeks, highlighting any significant KPI misses. If this occurs, DVSA collaborates with you to address concerns or issues. It’s important to note that DVSA will not have direct access to your data or systems. This voluntary scheme caters to operators of all sizes. There are no application fees to join, you only pay audit fees every two years for the main standard and/or yearly for extra modules. Audit fees are charged by providers like us.

Benefits of DVSA Earned Recognition:

  • Showcase your exemplary operator status when bidding for contracts.
  • Reduce the likelihood of roadside vehicle inspections.
  • Decrease the chances of DVSA enforcement staff visiting your premises.
  • Display the DVSA earned recognition logo on your website and promotional materials (excluding vehicles).
  • Be recognised as a DVSA-accredited operator on the GOV.UK website.
  • Gain direct access to a dedicated earned recognition team at DVSA.

Before applying, ensure you meet these criteria:

Audit Duration & Frequency:

► DVSA Earned Recognition audits now last between 1 to 2 days on-site and 1 to 2 days for write-up and quality assurance. The audit report is then submitted to DVSA for approval and inclusion in the scheme.
